KOREM ARGIOLAS 2020 DESCRIPTION

Korem wine is a red with an amazing nose, recalling scents of myrtle in homage to the Sardinian terroir. A product of great structure, the result of a happy blend of indigenous grapes, in which Bovale, Carignano and Cannonau come together with great harmony and with a consistently satisfying drinkability. A label where quality abounds, as witnessed by the excellent scores obtained both in the Italian field and internationally, with which the Argiolas winery confirms itself as a guarantee and reference for all Sardinian oenology and beyond.

Korem is the name the Argiolas winery gives to one of its red wines. It is a blend assembled from three grape varieties representative of Sardinian viticulture, Bovale, Carignano and Cannonau. The vines grow within vineyards rooted in a medium-textured subsoil tending to lose, composed mainly of limestone and clay. Once harvested, the grapes macerate for about 10-12 days, carrying out malolactic fermentation in vitrified cement wine vessels. Then follows the ageing phase, carried out first for 12 months in barrique and, after bottling, for another 6 months directly in the glass.

The red Korem is a wine that, on visual examination, has an intense colour, recalling the ruby hue. The aromas that invade the nose are rich and enveloping, with fruit notes alternating with sensations of sweet spices and more Mediterranean hints. The palate is full-bodied, dominated by excellent balance and a sip in which the tannic texture is evident; it ends with a finish characterized by a fruity aftertaste. Try it with rich, flavorful meat dishes, perhaps with fruit-based sweet-and-sour sushi, such as a good roll made with duck and plums.
