The Lugana 'Pietro Junior' by Pietro Zardini, with its intense bouquet, infused with notes of peach and citrus, captures the essence of the clayey chalk hills of the area between Peschiera and Desenzano. This wine is aged in steel for a short period, making it a young and fresh wine, to be consumed immediately as an aperitif or with a fish-based appetizer. It will instantly transport you along the shores of the enchanting Lake Garda!

The Lugana ‘Pietro Junior’ represents the interpretation of the Venetian reality by Pietro Zardini of this denomination reserved for white wines, produced with Trebbiano di Lugana grapes, which benefit from the proximity to Lake Garda. The Pietro Zardini winery is located in the prestigious area of Valpolicella Classica, where the family patriarch Leonardo Zardini began winemaking in the early decades of the 1800s. Today, the business is carried on by Pietro Zardini, the fifth generation, a passionate and tenacious producer who aims to enhance the long family tradition.

The ‘Pietro Junior’ Lugana by Pietro Zardini originates from only sustainably grown Trebbiano di Lugana grapes cultivated between the municipalities of Peschiera del Garda and Desenzano del Garda, in the southern area of the Lake. Here the soil is hilly, of a clayey-cretaceous nature, while the climate is typically mild due to the influence of Garda. Following the harvest, carried out by hand with meticulous selection of the grapes, the bunches are vinified through a short pre-fermentative skin maceration, followed by soft pressing and then from the alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The final marketing takes place not before a refinement of several months between steel and bottle.

The Lugana Pietro Zardini ‘Pietro Junior’ has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose offers rich hints of peach, citrus, and white flowers, surrounded by a subtle mineral vein. On the palate, it shows good body and remarkable freshness, with a salty and balanced finish that invites you to return to the glass. Remaining in the territorial context, this white wine pairs exceptionally well with various lake fish, such as tench or sardines from Garda.
