The Barbaresco "Albesani" from the Massolino winery is a typically Piedmontese red wine of great elegance and quality, perfect for important occasions. The intense ruby red color with garnet reflections accompanies aromas of red fruits, hay, and tobacco. The taste is full, harmonious, elegant, soft, and long
“Albesani” and Massolino is the story of a recent history, while the grape symbol of these lands has no secrets. A family of winemakers always linked to the Barolo territory, with the 2019 harvest they began to venture into the other famous terroir of Langa, offering the public two labels of Barbaresco. This is the interpretation of Albesani by brothers Franco and Roberto, the current generation at the helm of the estate: an expression born from the desire to enhance the Nebbiolo grapes coming from the parcel extending over 2 hectares within the Additional Geographical Mention, as the regulations technically describe it.
“Albesani” is an iconic cru of Barbaresco, vinified by Massolino with absolutely traditional intentions. The vineyard is located within the territory of Neive and stretches over the summit of a beautiful hill, at an altitude of 230 meters above sea level. The soils are defined by a composition of clay and marl, placed above a base of limestone rock and offer a exposuretowards the southwest: the vines managed by the family boast an age of over 50 years. The Nebbiolo is harvested at full ripeness and transported in small boxes. After destemming the bunches and gently pressing the grapes, alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak tanks, controlling the temperature around 30 degrees: the simultaneous maceration on the skins occurs over long and slow times. Once racked, the wine is transferred to large Slavonian oak barrels, where it will rest for an aging of 18 months. The final resting for a few months in the bottle marks the end of the cellar experience of this Barbaresco.
integrated freshness, in balance with a dense and mature tannic structure. A pairing of territory: battuta di fassona.
