The Barbaresco by Albino Rocca is a structured and gritty red wine from Piedmont, aged for 24 months in German and Austrian oak barrels. Floral and mineral tones characterize the nose. On the palate, it is dense and concentrated, with vigorous tannins capable of ensuring good aging potential.

The Barbaresco by Albino Rocca is the label of tradition, the one that best represents the style of the winery and the most ancient customs of the territory of the Langhe. Before the awareness of Burgundian origin spread, based on the enhancement of the crus and individual vineyards, producers often used to blend grapes from various owned vineyards, with often different and complementary characteristics, to create a single harmonious and balanced wine. The bottle has preserved this custom and expresses in an almost didactic way the character of the Nebbiolo from the Barbaresco area, elegant, refined, and of great tasting pleasure.

The red Barbaresco by Albino Rocca is the result of a long tradition. The Rocca family, since the 1940s, cultivated vineyards in the Langhe, first selling the grapes and then starting to bottle on their own, with the desire to enhance the estate. The wine is the result of grapes harvested from the youngest vineyards of the estate, aged about 15-20 years, cultivated in municipal territories of Barbaresco, Neive, S. Rocco Seno d'Elvio, located at an altitude between 240 and 310 meters above sea level, with exposures facing south, southeast, and southwest. The soils vary slightly from one parcel to another, although they present a common matrix characterized by calcareous-clay marl, with the presence of sands and sandstones. At the end of fermentation with classic maceration on the skins, the wine matures for at least 20 months in German and Austrian oak barrels to then complete the aging in the bottle.

The Barbaresco wine made by Albino Rocca is proposed as a true synthesis of the best qualities of the denomination and represents the ideal label for those who wish to approach this territory to understand its general characteristics before delving into the nuances of the various crus. To the eye, it displays a brilliant ruby red with slight garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is of remarkable finesse, with refined aromas of dried flowers and violet, notes of red currant, raspberry, marasca, hints of underbrush, licorice root, medicinal herbs, and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate, it presents a harmonious and smooth character, with mature, velvety tannins and complex, elegant aromas, which anticipate a long, fresh, and savory finish.
