Brunello di Montalcino Banfi 2021 - 37.5cl

It is rare to come across bottles that can provide enjoyable emotions right from the start, while still ensuring excellent aging capacity over time. This extraordinary example of versatility is provided to us by the Brunello di Montalcino from the Banfi winery, a great red that is already drinkable now, but at the same time promises not to disappoint in the years to come. A pure Sangiovese that, thanks to the low yields imposed in the vineyard, is extremely concentrated, with an elegant profile and an energetic sip, where the tannins are perfectly integrated.

The Banfi winery produces this Brunello di Montalcino DOCG by selecting the best Sangiovese grapes grown within the 170 hectares of owned vineyards. The bunches grow in the hilly area south of Montalcino, in vineyards located at about 220 meters above sea level, which sink their roots into sandy and limestone soils, rich in skeleton. Once they arrive in the facilities designated for winemaking, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation, macerating both in steel and in wood for about 10-12 days. This is followed by the aging phase, carried out for 24 months both in oak barrels with a capacity of 60-90 hectoliters and in French oak barriques.

The Brunello di Montalcino signed by Banfi presents itself to the eye with a deep and compact ruby red color, slightly tending towards garnet at the rim. The aromas that dominate the nose are characterized by breadth, and are centered on notes of red fruit alternating with sweet spices and nuances that tend towards ethereal. On the palate, it has excellent body, round, with a velvety sip that envelops the palate with intense flavors; it finishes with a decidedly persistent aftertaste. A label that represents one of the great classics produced by the winery, where tradition and modernity come together perfectly.
