Champagne Demi Sec 'Carte Blanche' Louis Roederer
Champagne Demi Sec 'Carte Blanche' from the historic Louis Roederer winery is a fresh and elegant sparkling wine, perfect for toasting to special occasions or to accompany desserts. The nose expresses aromas of white flowers, citrus zest, toasted hazelnut and custard, creamy notes that return on the palate, invigorated by a fine and elegant perlage. A Champagne that the winery calls "hedonistic" because of its immediate pleasantness!
“Carte Blanche” is the creation of Louis Roederer crafted to represent the historical continuity of the Maison, a direct reference to those upheavals of the early 20th century that led Leon Olry Roederer to reconstitute the family vineyard. The survival of the winery was safeguarded through the purchase of grapes from the surrounding territories: an activity that gave rise to a cuvée composed of different vintages and capable of expressing a constant taste over time. “Carte Blanche” is a tribute to the traditional style of Champagnes of the 19th century, the result of skillful blends and characterized by a soft taste.
Champagne Demi Sec “Carte Blanche” by Louis Roederer is a classic blend: a slight predominance of Chardonnay is accompanied by about 35% Pinot Noir and finished with Meunier, present for just over 20%. The ampelographic diversity is reflected in the interesting range of vintages: there are 7 vintages that are the protagonists within the cuvée, elements that determine its expressiveness through the strength, balance, and roundness of the vin de reserve.determine the expressiveness through the strength, balance, and roundness of the vin de reserve. The grapes come from 400 family-owned plots: the reference territories are represented by the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne, and the Côte de Blancs. Each terroir is cared for through tailor-made viticulture, aiming to protect and enhance biodiversity to the fullest, increasingly using biodynamic principles. The blend involves the use of 5% vinification in oak barrels and a maturation period in the cellar between 36 and 48 months. After disgorgement and dosage, the Champagne rests for another 6 months before being offered to the public.
The Champagne Demi Sec “Carte Blanche” by Louis Roederer offers a brilliant view and pleasant straw nuances, enlivened by intense and persistent effervescence. A nose of great delight, it fans out notes of cooked fruit, baked apple, white flowers, and frangipane in a dynamic succession, which then culminates in the expression of a rich and creamy texture, in beautiful contrast with the pronounced freshness on the palate.
