The Chardonnay “La Source” is the flagship label of the white wine range from the American winery Evening Land, a true excellence of Oregon, one of the most suitable regions for viticulture. It is a single vineyard cuvée, the result of a particularly prized plot, which yields grapes of superior quality. It is an intense and complex version, inspired by the great models of Burgundy aged in wood. Its floral and fruity bouquet, enriched by elegant notes of tertiary evolution, makes it a white wine destined for connoisseurs and the most experienced enthusiasts. To be enjoyed on a special evening with intense-flavored fish dishes or with white meats.
“La Source” is a Chardonnay that surprises with its quality. It comes from the Evening Land estate, a reality created in the 1980s, which today manages 36 hectares of vineyards under organic and biodynamic farming. Its wines are known worldwide and are considered among the best excellences of the land of Oregon. The Chardonnay grapes come from a vineyard cultivated on poor soils of ancient volcanic nature, characterized by the presence of rocks and gravel, which make them particularly draining. At the end of the harvest, the best carefully selected bunches are taken to the winery where they undergo a gentle pressing to extract only the free-run juice. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, using only indigenous yeasts. The wine then matures for a period of 12 months in oak barrels and for a further six months in steel tanks.
The Chardonnay “La Source,” produced by Evening Land, highlights the extraordinary potential of Oregon's terroir, not only for Pinot Noir but also for the other noble variety of Burgundy. In the glass, it presents a bright light yellow color with brilliant golden reflections. Elegant and intense, it expresses a bouquet characterized by floral scents, notes of citrus peel, aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, hints of tropical fruit, honeyed softness and pastry notes, spicy sensations and nuances of dried fruit. On the palate, it is broad, rich, with a harmonious and deep sip, supported by a clear freshness, leading to a very persistent finish.
