The Gewurztraminer from Cantina Valle Isarco is a typically territorial interpretation of this beloved aromatic grape variety. The cold climate and altitude give rise to a fragrant wine, with very elegant intense aromas, accompanied by a pleasant freshness. It is a Gewurztraminer that does not express concentration and power, but rather aromatic finesse, delicacy of spicy and tropical notes. It is a label primarily focused on the pursuit of harmony and balance in the sip.
The Gewurztraminer wine in Valle Isarco finds an expressive dimension of great personality and territorial recognizability. This ancient grape variety from Central Europe, born from a spontaneous genetic mutation of Traminer or Savagnin, has adapted very well in Alto Adige, demonstrating a great ability to express the characteristics of the individual terroirs. Among the high peaks and ancient farms, the narrow valley is dotted with vineyards that rise to almost 1000 meters in altitude. The Gewurztraminer is cultivated between 400 and 700 meters, on sunny terraces facing south, more sunny and sheltered from the winds coming from the north. The soils are characterized by alluvial gravelly soils with the presence of diorite and quartz rocks. The particularly cold climate with strong temperature fluctuations between day and night gives the Gewurztraminer intense, refined aromas and a more delicate and less powerful aromaticity compared to the areas of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina. The grapes are softly pressed and the must is started to ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine matures on noble lees in steel tanks for several months before being bottled.
The white wine from Cantina Valle Isarco is the perfect label for those who love expressions aromatic with a refined and subtle profile, which prefer the elegant facet of aromas over concentration. In the glass, it has a straw yellow color with slight greenish hues. The bouquet is complex and fine, with aromas of rose petal, grapefruit, cedar, citrus peel, and delicate spices. The sip is dynamic, with a mid-palate that opens up to ripe fruit, with slight tropical hints and a harmonious finish that returns to spicy sensations.
