The Grappa Stravecchia “Le Diciotto Lune” is a true emblem of the care and the art of distillation of Marzadro. A bottle in which the aromas on the nose become particularly intense, becoming almost ethereal and losing the roughness they would have if they did not undergo an aging of 18 months to round them out. On the palate it is elegant and silky, with a sip that envelops the palate with warmth and with excellent flavor richness. A Grappa for meditation to be reserved when one wants to take time for oneself.
“Le Diciotto Lune” Marzadro is a Grappa Stravecchia that originates from the freshest pomace of five Trentino pomaces, namely Marzemino, Teroldego, Merlot, Moscato, and Chardonnay. The distillation phase is carried out using a copper still that operates in a water bath thanks to steam, using the discontinuous production method. The Grappa obtained is allowed to rest for 18 months in small barrels of different woods, among which we remember cherry, oak, robinia, and ash. During this period, the Grappa takes on the characteristic color, and the Master Distiller checks that the maturation continues in the correct manner, until the ideal balance between tertiary aromas and varietal aromas of the pomace is reached.
The Grappa Stravecchia “Le Diciotto Lune” presents itself to the eye with a golden hue, endowed with a beautiful brightness and with some reflections that tend slightly more towards amber shades. On the nose it is rich and generous, where a multitude of olfactory notes follows, from dried fruit to honey, passing through sweet spices expressed in different nuances. On the palate it has excellent body, is elegant, with a sip that is thin but concentrated; it closes with a persistent finish. A label that encapsulates the art of distillation of Marzadro, and which is recommended to be tasted in moments of tranquility, where one can then dedicate attention to discovering its different souls.
