Il Poggio Lombrone is a powerful, vigorous, and structured red wine made from Sangiovese, matured for 24 months in large oak barrels and for at least 12 in bottle. It expresses deep and very intense shades of berry jam, sweet spices, resin, aromatic and balsamic herbs. On the palate, it is rich, intense, structured, and persistent.

The Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva “Poggio Lombrone” is a Tuscan red that matures in wood for 24 months, delivering a complex and fascinating wine, significant on the nose and intriguing on the palate. A pure Sangiovese made by ColleMassari, a property of the Tipa family, already present in Tuscany with two high-level wineries, Grattamacco in the Bolgheri area and Poggio di Sotto in Montalcino. A vigorous bottle, which year after year confirms excellent levels, as demonstrated by the scores obtained nationally and internationally.

This “Poggio Lombrone” Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva is born from the pure grapes of one of the most important red grape varieties in the entire Italian wine scene, the Sangiovese. The vines of this variety grow in vineyards located at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level, rooting in a subsoil mainly characterized by clay, tuff, limestone, and marls. In the vineyard, organic farming practices are followed, because attention to the territory, in all its forms, is one of the cornerstones of ColleMassari's production philosophy. The grapes, once harvested, ferment alcoholically in truncated conical tanks, macerating for a long time. The malolactic fermentation takes place in 40-hectoliter oak barrels. Then, the aging process continues, first for 24 months in large oak barrels and then, after bottling, for another 12 months directly in glass.

The “Poggio Lombrone” Riserva is a Montecucco Sangiovese that reveals itself to the eye with an intense color, reminiscent of ruby. The bouquet of aromas that develops on the nose recalls layered notes, where hints of fruit jam blend with balsamic and spicy touches. On the palate, it is full-bodied, muscular, with a sip that announces itself strong from the very beginning, thanks to a remarkable tannic grip. A label with which the ColleMassari winery gives us the perfect wine to accompany great dishes based on red meat and game.
