Sauvignon Sirch 2025
The Sauvignon by Sirch is a white wine with a fresh profile, pleasantly aromatic and typically varietal, resulting from a maturation of 6 months in steel. It reveals a pleasant vegetal symphony, with notes of pepper, gooseberry, tomato leaf, and citrus. On the palate, it is smooth, balanced, and has good aromaticity, with savory and mineral hints.
The Sauvignon by Sirch is a successful version of this famous semi-aromatic French grape variety, which reaches expressive peaks of absolute excellence in the Loire Valley. It has been cultivated in Friuli since the 1800s and among the international varieties, it has developed the best symbiosis with the territory, becoming a true enological symbol of the region. In the milder and sunnier climate of the Colli Orientali, Sauvignon Blanc offers mature notes with a more pronounced aromaticity and a mediterranean, intense, and broad character. It is a wine that brings to the forefront the varietal richness, with fruity aromas, vegetal hints, and mineral sensations typical of the terroir.
The Sauvignon Sirch is the result of over half a century of experience in vine cultivation in the splendid territory of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. Sirch manages a vast estate of about one hundred hectares, divided among the estates of Cividale del Friuli, Orsaria, and Cladrecis. The Sauvignon grapes come from the best vineyards of the estate, cultivated in a medium-hill area, on soils characterized by marl of limestone and sandstone, particularly suitable for white grape varieties. At the end of the harvesting operations, the clusters are destemmed and the grapes are softly pressed. After static decantation, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16°-18 °C. It rests on the fine lees in steel tanks for six months and completes the aging with a few months in bottle before being put on sale.
The white Sauvignon is one of the most famous labels of Sirch. Among international grape varieties, it is the most loved and appreciated for its strong character, marked by a typically territorial style. It has a pale straw yellow color with slight greenish reflections, and on the nose, it presents intense and rich aromas reminiscent of medicinal herbs, sage, tomato leaf, boxwood, citrus peel, grapefruit, peach, ripe white-fleshed fruit, and tropical fruit. Intense and aromatic, it unfolds harmoniously in a juicy and long sip, which anticipates a finish of great freshness, closing on notes savory. It is perfect to pair with a dish of shellfish, a risotto with scampi, or with asparagus.
