The Brut Sparkling Wine “Contea Sclafani” Regaleali by Tasca d’Almerita is born in Sicily, precisely in the province of Palermo. The winery is known as one of the most renowned in the Sicilian wine scene, as it has passed down passion and experience in this field for eight generations. The Tasca family is now represented by Alberto and Giuseppe, who have been able to treasure the family heritage and the passion breathed day after day in the winery, projecting all this into the future with a focus on sustainability and respect for biodiversity.
The Chardonnay grapes of the Brut Sparkling Wine “Contea Sclafani” Regaleali by Tasca d’Almerita come from the Cava Rina vineyard, which extends over about 16 hectares. They are located about 500 meters above sea level and the vines are about 28 years old. The exposure is south/southwest with a good presence of sunlight, essential for grape ripening. The climate is characterized by mild winters without humidity and hot, sultry summers. The harvest takes place towards the end of August, manually, and in the winery, alcoholic fermentation occurs.malolactic and alcoholic according to the principles of the Metodo Classico with a second fermentation in the bottle. It ages for 24 months on the lees.
In appearance, the Spumante Brut "Contea Sclafani" Regaleali by Tasca d'Almerita is a golden yellow with brilliant reflections and a fine, persistent perlage. The bouquet of aromas is broad and recalls ripe yellow-fleshed fruit and freshly baked bread crust; the palate is filled with its creaminess and softness, balanced by the freshness that invites sipping glass after glass. It is recommended to pair with grilled fish dishes, shellfish, and mollusks; also interesting with first courses seasoned with seasonal vegetables.
