'Stella Flora' Maria Pia Castelli 2021

“Stella Flora” is the name of a white wine that the winery Maria Pia Castelli dedicates to some typical grape varieties of the Marche terroir, Pecorino, Passerina, Trebbiano, and Malvasia di Candia. A blend with a aromatic and Mediterranean profile, from which tertiary notes also emerge, resulting from the aging in wood that this product undergoes after vinification. A bottle with a concrete and genuine sip, whose structure allows it to be enjoyed even a few years later, after further maturation in glass.

The “Stella Flora” is a Marche wine that comes from the happy union of different grape varieties, Pecorino, Passerina, Trebbiano, and Malvasia di Candia. The vines of these varieties have an average age of around 20 years and grow under principles of organic farming, sinking their roots into a soil composed mainly of clay subsoil, rich in iron components. The grapes, once harvested and taken to the facilities dedicated to vinification at the winery Maria Pia Castelli, ferment alcoholically, also undergoing malolactic fermentation, in wood, thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, remaining in contact with the skins for a long time. The aging process then takes place, which lasts for 18 months in barrique.

The white wine “Stella Flora” manifests, upon visual examination, with an intense hue reminiscent of the color of gold. The olfactory spectrum reveals a primarily Mediterranean soul, where aromatic herbs alternate with more floral and mineral sensations. On the palate, it has an excellent structure, round, with a full sip of dry and fresh taste, characterized by a long closing finish. A bottle with which the winery Maria Pia Castelli demonstrates its ability to create a harmonious and balanced blend, where aromas and flavors develop with coherence and delicacy, without ever exaggerating.
