The production reality of That Boutique-y Whisky Company is located in England, precisely in the town of Tonbridge, southeast of London. The brand's goal is to select and bottle the best whiskies in the world, packaged with ironic and curious labels. In particular, this bottle comes from the collaboration with the Finnish distillery Kyrӧ, specialized in the production of rye whisky and led by five young friends who in 2014 had the idea to distill rye, one of the most important foods in Finland, giving rise to the Kyrӧ project.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company Kyrӧ Batch #1 Rye Whisky 4 Years Old originates from pure Finnish rye malt. From the infusion in hot water of the ground rye malt, the so-called “mash” is obtained, which is then subjected to alcoholic fermentation for a few days from which the “wort” is obtained, a kind of beer. The mass is then distilled in pot stills while the subsequent aging phase takes place for 2 years in new American oak barrels and for an additional 2 years in barrels previously used for bourbon maturation.
