Tommasi's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a benchmark in its category, a deep and powerful red wine aged for 30 months in large oak barrels. An intense bouquet marked by fruit preserved in alcohol, chocolate, graphite and balsamic herbs emerges from a textured and complex palate that is flavourful and persistent

Tommasi's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is one of the appellation's benchmark labels and represents one of the most typical and traditional interpretations of this famous wine, which has conquered palates around the world thanks to its pleasant smoothness and its full, rich and persistent flavour. A bottle that is enhanced at the table when paired with braised red meats or stews. Ideal to enjoy with pastissada de caval, a great dish from the Veronese culinary tradition.

This Amarone Classico originates in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, the historic area with the longest tradition of viticulture. The Tommasi family owns a total of over 200 hectares in this beautiful hilly area, which extends north-west of Verona towards Lake Garda. Amarone is made from red grapes historically grown in the area: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta, which come from the prestigious La Groletta and Conca d'Oro vineyards. After harvesting, the best bunches are left to dry in special fruit drying rooms for about three months, in order to concentrate the sugars and aromas. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels and lasts about five days. The wine is then aged for at least 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and finishes its ageing with a few months in the bottle before being released for sale.

Tommasi's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a concentrated and powerful red wine that expresses the great tradition of the region in the production of wines from dried grapes. It is a label faithful to the ancient custom of using large barrels for ageing, which are not too invasive and do not impart excessive wood aromas. In the glass, it is an intense, almost dark ruby red. The nose reveals aromas of ripe fruit, cherries in alcohol, chocolate, slightly toasted notes, graphite and hints of balsamic. On the palate, it is warm, full-bodied and complex, with an aromatically rich and deep mouthfeel and a persistent, harmonious and balanced finish.
