This Grillo by Duca di Salaparuta is part of a celebratory line that features great Sicilian works of art on the label. It is a distinctly Mediterranean wine with character, a little like the colours of the painting by Renato Guttuso, a painter who is the pride of Sicily. On the nose there are first hints of white flowers, then intense tropical aromas develop, opening the scene to citrusy hints of grapefruit. The palate is enveloping and direct, with remarkable freshness and tanginess. To be drunk young with a dish of seafood crudités

The Grillo from the Duca di Salaparuta winery is a Sicilian white wine with a refreshing and immediate style of great pleasure. The label depicts a portion of one of Renato Guttuso's works, entitled 'Landscape of Aspra', dated 1959. He was an important Italian painter and politician, originally from the Sicilian town of Bagheria and considered one of the greatest 20th century artists in the country. It is precisely the town of Bagheria that symbolises the link between Renato Guttuso and Duca di Salaparuta, a winery originally from Bagheria that celebrated 200 years of history in 2024.

Duca di Salaparuta Grillo is made from pure Grillo grapes grown at an altitude between 50 and 300 metres above sea level in Sicily's Mediterranean climate. The bunches, harvested from mid-August until the end of September, undergo delicate destemming, followed by soft crushing. The flower must thus obtained is then conveyed into stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 16-18 °C. The subsequent maturation phase, which lasts for at least 3 months, also takes place in stainless steel on the noble lees, which give the wine body and complexity. After a further brief soak in the bottle, this Grillo is finally ready for release.

The Grillo signed Duca di Salaparuta presents itself in the glass with a straw yellow colour with brilliant greenish reflections. On the nose, aromas of tropical fruit reminiscent of mango and papaya alternate with notes of grapefruit and jasmine. The taste is soft and balanced, with pleasant freshness and an important sapid vein on the finish. The winery itself suggests pairing its Grillo with delicious fish soups or fine raw seafood.
