Mezcal "Chichicapa" is distilled by the great master Garcia Vazquez and takes its name from the homonymous village located south of Oaxaca, in a wild and tropical plateau, rich in exotic fruit plants. The nose recalls notes of citrus, sweet nuances of tropical fruit and chocolate and a typical smoky nuance. On the palate it is deep, rich and complex, with a long persistence on smoky tones

The Mezcal “Chichicapa” is one of the labels from Del Maguey, which is part of the prestigious collection of Single Village bottles, created to enhance the distinctive characteristics of mezcal from villages located in the region south of Oaxaca. The dry and arid climate of the Oaxaca highlands has always been a perfect habitat for the Agave plant, which grows spontaneously here and is part of the local wild flora. The extraordinary quality of the raw material and artisanal processing methods allow for the production of mezcal of absolute excellence.

The “Chichicapa” Mezcal is the result of a very particular project by the Del Maguey brand. It originates in the village of San Baltazar Chichicapam and perfectly represents its ancient traditions, passed down from generation to generation within the small community. Its creator is Faustino Garcia Vasquez, who, with the help of his son Maximino, carries on the artisanal custom of mezcal from the Zapotec people. At the base of the distillate is the precious variety of blue Agave, cultivated in the dry and arid climate and harvested only when it reaches adulthood. The heart of the agave is cooked in traditional ovens and after the natural fermentation process, double distillation takes place, which occurs in copper stills heated by direct fire. A technique that requires considerable sensitivity to always maintain the right temperature.

The Mezcal “Chichicapa”, produced by the famous Del Maguey brand, is a label reserved for a knowledgeable audience, who are very familiar with the classic characteristics of the famous Mexican distillate and are looking for particular bottles that can reveal its more subtle nuances, linked to specific territorial connotations. To the eye, it appears absolutely transparent, clear, and crystalline. The bouquet is characterized by fragrant aromas of citrus, lime zest, vegetal hints of freshly cut agave, aromas of ripe white-fleshed fruit, sweet hints of tropical fruit, notes of dried fruit, spicy notes, and slightly smoky undertones. The sip is clear and smooth, dry and intense, with soft aromas and a fresh and balsamic finish, with good taste persistence.
