"Regard du Loire" is a tribute by Robinot to the land of the Loire and its rare grape variety Pineau d'Aunis. It is a red wine of great elegance and extraordinary subtlety, able to give a smooth and delicate taste, perfect synthesis of power and finesse, tension and persistence. The nose continuously changes in the glass with fruity, spicy and rustic peaks. Artisanal wine, made with old style methods

“Regard du Loire” Robinot is a declaration of love to the Loire, the native land of producer Jean-Pierre. He is one of the most important figures in the French landscape of artisanal wines, a pioneer and visionary who, in the early 2000s, decided to take over some plots in his hometown and start responsible and biodynamic viticulture. An eclectic character, in the '70s he opened, at a very young age, a wine bar in Paris with an exclusively artisanal wine selection; later he created the magazine “Rouge et Blanc”, highly appreciated throughout the country, until he decided to sell the wine shop to get his hands dirty and produce his own wines. He also gets his hands dirty with paints and brushes, as he personally designs all the labels for his wines.

The red wine “Regard du Loire” is a rare gem in the wine landscape of the Loire. It is made entirely from Pineau d'Aunis, a rare grape variety found mainly in the Sartre area. The vines of Robinot are between 70 and 80 years old and grow on soils rich in clay and limestone. Jean-Pierre accompanies his wine, almost never intervening either in the vineyard or in the cellar because for him “it is the wine that decides, not me”. In particular, the maceration has very long timings, taking place in the cellar at a temperature between 10° and 12°. There is a total affection relationship between him and his wine, there is a constant dialogue from Jean-Pierre, a direct listening to the various evolutions. It almost seems like what exists between a father and a now grown son, to whom the parent tries to provide the foundations of education before leaving him free to embark on his own path.

The Robinot “Regard du Loire” has a pulsating heart that makes all the senses of the body vibrate. The notes that gradually rise in the mouth bring back to something ancestral, linked to the earth, with hints of underbrush and wild spices. Then there is that part that refers to more familiar territories, belonging to the comfort zone: fresh red fruit and sparks of licorice and rhubarb. If one pays the right attention and dedicates time to understand this multifaceted red that changes in the glass, one realizes that it makes noise. And what one hears definitely recalls “Comfortably numb” by Pink Floyd: a hypnotic, seductive, enveloping melody that builds up.
