RUM BUMBU ORIGINAL (PACKAGING) DESCRIPTION

Bumbu Rum 'The Original' represents a unique expression of rum with a sweet and spicy character, produced from sugar cane from no less than eight different countries in the Caribbean and South America. Bumbu production is based on the island of Barbados, the place where the world's first rum seems to have been produced. Indeed, in the 17th century, English settlers started an intensive cultivation of sugar cane here, sugar being a highly prized commodity at the time. The local population then began to produce small quantities of rum as a by-product of cane processing. The rum had to be rather strong and not very valuable due to rudimentary technology and little knowledge of the subject, so that the liquor was called 'Kill-Devil' by the local plantation farmers. The symbol of the Bumbu brand bottles is the metal 'X', a logo that recalls the time of pirates, when the Caribbean sea was the scene of a thousand adventures.

Rum 'The Original' Bumbu is produced from sugar cane from no less than eight countries in the Caribbean and South America, including Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guyana and Honduras. Another fundamental ingredient used is the purest water that flows from the springs on the island of Barbados, which is used to dilute the distillate, not before it has been aged for 15 years in oak barrels.

Bumbu Rum 'The Original' is deep amber in colour. On the nose, intense sweet and caramelised sensations stand out, reminiscent of dried fruit, honey and sweet spices, enriched by fine toasted hints. In the mouth, it is smooth and round, with remarkable envelopment and long aromatic persistence. It is a rum of excellent versatility, to be served neat or used in mixology for the preparation of delicious cocktails with Caribbean character.
