SPARKLING WINE EXTRA DRY 'CUVÉE SERGIO 1887' LUXURY MIONETTO DESCRIPTION

The Spumante Extra Dry 'Cuvée Sergio 1887 Luxury Collection' from the important Veneto-based Mionetto is a sparkling wine with a pleasant almondy taste that reflects the long-standing winemaking tradition of the Mionetto winery. This sparkling wine is produced from a blend of local white grapes with the aim of enhancing the characteristics of the territories located at the foot of the Venetian Pre-Alps. The wording '1887' is then a reference to the year of foundation of the winery, a reality with a consolidated wine history.

Cuvée Sergio 1887 Luxury Collection' Mionetto Spumante Extra Dry is made from a blend of white grapes vinified through soft pressing and subsequent alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks. The Martinotti Method technique, otherwise known as the Charmat Method, which consists of re-fermentation in autoclaves, is adopted for frothing. The sparkling wine is finally bottled under isobaric conditions with a residual sugar content of between 14 and 17 g/l, thus in the Extra Dry category.

The Extra Dry Spumante 'Cuvée Sergio 1887 Luxury Collection' from the Mionetto winery has a delicate straw yellow colour with a light effervescence. The nose alternates between sensations of wild apples and honey, with hints of almond characterising the finish. The sip reveals considerable freshness to support the discreet body, elements that combine in a slender, taut development with a pleasantly bitter finish enhanced by the subtle, not at all intrusive bubble. The producer himself suggests pairing the 'Cuvée Sergio 1887' with simple, light dishes, perhaps as an aperitif, accompanied by finger food and assorted appetisers.
