TRENTO SPUMANTE DOSAGGIO ZERO MAGNUM REVÌ 2020 DESCRIPTION

Trento Spumante Dosaggio Zero from the Revì winery is a fine, elegant wine produced in Aldeno, a village about 10 km south-west of Trento in Trentino. It is a non-dosage sparkling wine made from a blend of mainly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes from vineyards situated on hills at an altitude of around 300-400 metres above sea level and facing south-west. The grapes are matured using the guyot method and, as they descend towards the valley, the Trentino pergola. The soils are predominantly limestone, giving this Trentino doc great grace and finesse, combined with an ever-present structure. The estate is a family-run business, run today by two women, Carmen Tomasi and Giovanna Bertoldi, wife and sister-in-law respectively of the original founder Paolo Malfer, who were perhaps among the first in the region to experiment with secondary fermentation in the bottle without adding sugar.

Dosaggio Zero Trento Spumante is produced from carefully selected grapes, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, harvested exclusively by hand. The grapes are transported to the winery, pressed whole with a vertical press and transferred to temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, where alcoholic fermentation takes place to obtain the base wine. The wine is then bottled, with the addition of tiragel liqueur for the prise de mousse. The wine rests on the lees for around 36 months, then it is disgorged and the expedition liqueur is added only with must and no added sugar, as required by the brut nature category.

The Trento Dosaggio Zero Spumante from the Revì winery has a brilliant golden yellow colour with a fine, persistent pearl. The nose reveals pleasant aromas of green apple and yellow fruit, citrus fruit and floral notes of white flowers, as well as hints of cakes and bread crust. The palate is enveloping and creamy, with notes of orange peel and mineral touches on the finish that enhance drinkability. This Revì Undosed Sparkling Wine is a fresh, clean and very pleasant wine, with a fine structure, suitable for all situations.
