The Champagne Cuvée Brut produced by the maison Piper Heidsieck presents itself as a true puzzle of terroir. It is indeed a blend where Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay come from more than 100 different parcels, summarizing in a single sip the beauty and versatility of the Champagne region. A traditional and graceful label, which presents in the nose and mouth what one expects from this French sparkling wine.
The Cuvée Brut Champagne by Piper Heidsieck is born from the most classic blend found in this region, composed of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. The vines of these three varieties are cultivated within more than a hundred different crus, which therefore represent about a third of the total vineyards in the Champagne region. The grapes, carefully selected during the harvest, ferment alcoholically in steel, undergoing malolactic fermentation; at this point, a percentage of 15-20% of reserve wines is added, and the refermentation occurs, as for all products made with the Metodo Champenoise, in bottle. Here the wine remains to refine on the lees for 24 months, after which the disgorging and bottling operations are carried out.
This Champagne Cuvée Brut signed by the winery Piper Heidsieck reveals itself to the eye with a straw yellow color. The perlage highlights a fine grain, with good persistence. The bouquet of aromas that envelop the nose tells a set of layered notes, which shift from fresh fruit to sensations of aromatic herbs and yeasts. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, harmonious, with a smooth sip, characterized by a savory imprint. A sparkling wine with which the maison confirms itself at good quality levels, as also supported by the scores assigned to it by some of the most important international sector guides.
