Riesling Monsupello 2024
Perfect to drink every dayThe Riesling from Monsupello is a refreshing and fruity white wine from the Oltrepò Pavese, vinified only in steel. It expresses fresh aromas of citrus and white fruit and has a delicate, simple, drinkable and balanced taste.
The Riesling from Monsupello is a white wine of great freshness, produced in the splendid territory of Oltrepò Pavese. A traditional wine that highlights how this great northern grape has adapted well to this territory for centuries. The aromatic profile expresses delicate floral scents, aromas of white fruit, and citrus notes. The sip is dynamic and tense, fresh and fragrant, with a long and persistent finish.
The white Riesling is produced with the pure Riesling Renano grape, cultivated in the first hilly area of Oltrepò Pavese at an altitude of about 150 meters above sea level. The vineyards are located in the municipalities of Oliva Gessi and Torricella Verzate, with exposures ranging from southeast to southwest and are trained using the Guyot method. The soils consist of calcareous-clay marl very suitable for a demanding grape like Riesling. The harvest usually takes place around the first half of September. The whole grapes are softly pressed to extract only the free-run must, avoiding contact with oxygen using nitrogen and dry ice, in order to preserve all the aromas of Riesling. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 18°C and always rests in steel until the following spring when it is bottled with a light microfiltration.
The Riesling wine is one of the best excellences among the whites of Oltrepò Pavese. The cool climate, gentle hilly exposures, and the vocated soils, rich in limestone, have historically proven suitable for Riesling Renano, which has resided in these lands since the 1800s. The color is light straw yellow with bright greenish reflections. On the nose, it expresses scents of acacia and hawthorn flowers, citrus aromas, and white fruit. On the palate, it stands out for an attack of lively freshness, typical of the grape variety, with a delicate fruity sip characterized by elegant and persistent aromas.
