"Studio di Bianco" is a great and elegant white wine that comes from a long project to find the perfect synthesis between the characteristics of Riesling, Sauvignon and Friulano from an ancient 5-hectare plot. On the nose, the mineral and hydrocarbon notes of Riesling are softened by the aromatic and fruity touches of Sauvignon and the almond nuances of Friulano. The taste is soft, refined and impactful, supported by a lively freshness

The "Studio di Bianco" is a white wine from the Collio region of Friuli that comes from a long-term experimental project carried out for over 30 years by the Borgo del Tiglio winery. The aim is to find the perfect formula for blending the grapes of Riesling, Sauvignon, and Friulano that come from a 5-hectare piece of land, of which 3.5 are dedicated to vine cultivation, inherited in 1989 on the hills of Ruttars. This is an idea conceived by the winemaker Nicola Manferrari, who aimed to present an internationally renowned white wine capable of evolving over time and that perfectly synthesizes the varietal characteristics of the three starting grape varieties. The current form of blending was developed in 1996 and has not changed since then. The Sauvignon, completely different from the classic exotic and tropical interpretations, contributes to the aromatic charge and offers distinctly fruity aromas, while the Riesling, in the German style, enriches the taste and bouquet with mineral and hydrocarbon nuances, and finally the Friulano, the least aromatic of the three, develops typical notes of almond and dried fruit. The result is a white wine of great harmony and elegance, capable of perfectly reflecting all the nuances of the three varieties used.

The blend "Studio di Bianco" takes shape on the gentle hilly slopes of Ruttars, in the heart of the Friuli Collio, just a few kilometers from the Slovenian border. The grapes are harvested at different times; in particular, the Friulano, the most challenging to cultivate, because it is harvested at full maturity when its aromas are fully developed. The vines rest on the classic marl and sandstone soil, locally nicknamed "ponca". The white winemaking follows different paths for each variety, and the common step is the delicate pressing of the clusters and fermentation in steel. Once blended, the aging phase begins, the duration of which varies from year to year. Typically, the resting period lasts 12 months inside 250-liter oak barrels, specially made for the winery, reminiscent of barrique.

The white wine "Studio di Bianco" reveals in the glass a bright straw-yellow dress, streaked with golden hues. The aromatic spectrum is very broad and chiseled, characterized by notes of peach, apricot, mint, sage, almond, and pine, wrapped in a mineral veil. The hydrocarbon notes, brought in by the German variety, are still subtle and not pronounced, but over time they tend to develop more at the expense of the fruity side. The taste is refined, sumptuous, and harmonious, marked by a lively and satisfying freshness that makes the drinking experience smooth and persistent. A wine with tremendous evolutionary potential, to be enjoyed both in its fragrant youth or to be forgotten for years in the cellar. The art of experimentation!
