50&50 AVIGNONESI CAPANNELLE 2019 DESCRIPTION

50&50, that is, a blend where Sangiove and Merlot embrace each other in equal percentages, giving a classy sip, which, year after year, is confirmed in the main national and international reference guides. The 50&50, however, has another special feature: it is, in fact, a product that was born out of the friendship and bond between the owners of the Avignonesi and Capannelle wineries, both driven by the quest for perfection and excellence. It is, therefore, a red wine signed by the two wineries, where the Merlot comes from Avignonesi's estates, while the Sangiovese grows in Capannelle's vineyards. When they say that union is strength, they are not wrong: try it to believe!

This 50&50 red wine is the result of a blend that concerns not only the grapes used but also the wineries that make it! It is, in fact, a product created in a co-partnership, both by Avignonesi and Capannelle. The Merlot grown by Avignonesi gives elegance, softness and intensity, while the Sangiovese grown in Capannelle's vineyards gives energy, strength and vigour. The grapes, once harvested, vinified in steel containers and truncated oak vats, macerating on the skins for 15-20 days. This is followed by the maturation phase, in which the wine ages slowly, for 24 months, in French oak barriques.

The 50&50 signed Avignonesi Capannelle is a red wine that, to the eye, reveals itself with a ruby colour, very bright and full. Rich and layered is the bouquet of aromas that develops on the nose, with nuances that, from small red fruit, veer towards tertiary notes. On tasting, it has a full, energetic structure, which is lightened by a pleasantly fresh sip. A bottle that wants to celebrate the winemaking history of the Avignonesi winery, emphasizing the friendship established over time with the owners of Capannelle, a production reality located in Gaiole in Chianti.
