CHAMPAGNE BRUT 'PRESTIGE' JACKY CHARPENTIER DESCRIPTION

The Brut "Prestige" Champagne by Jacky Charpentier has been described by critics as a bubble of great complexity, richness, smoothness and depth, which is outlined in a superb multifaceted profile. The Maison is owned by the Charpentier family, now in its fifth generation of vignerons. Set in the Vallee de la Marne, 12 km west of Epernay, it is made up of vineyards spread over several areas, totalling 38 plots spread over no less than 9 communes. The Jacky Charpentier winery therefore has  a very rich palette of hues and nuances at its disposal, which can be combined in a multitude of blends. It is precisely in this act that the skill of the winemaker emerges, who knows how to guide the natural expressions of the terroir by channelling them into a tale of great personality.

Jacky Charpentier's "Prestige" Brut Champagne is made from a base of Pinot Noir and smaller parts of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Each parcel of origin has its own harvesting times. The bunches are picked by hand and the best grapes, the ones in excellent condition, are brought to the cellar in small crates. After pressing, carried out with great care thanks to modern technology, the must obtained this way undergoes the first alcoholic fermentation. This takes place in steel tanks and precedes malolactic fermentation. Once the various batches have been vinified, the wines are assembled and placed to age in barriques and oak barrels. This is followed by the long re-fermentation in the bottle that will lead to the finished product: Champagne "Prestige" Brut.

The "Prestige" Champagne Brut Jacky Charpentier has an intense straw yellow colour that veers towards golden nuances. The bouquet has an in-depth depth in the fruity hints of apricot and passion fruit, honey, butter, pastry and dried fruit. In the mouth it introduces a style of finesse and body, in which the toasty texture and freshness emerge to chisel the sip. A big round of applause is due, to this concentrate of territory elegantly re-fermented in the bottle.
