Rocca delle Macie

Chianti Classico "Tenuta Sant'Alfonso" is a fresh and medium-bodied red wine, produced from Sangiovese grapes harvested in a cru of Tenuta Sant''Alfonso and aged in large wooden barrels for at least a year. Aromas of red fruit, spices, pepper and a light note of iron enrich a fresh, pleasantly tannic and soft structure. A strongly gastronomic red!

CHIANTI CLASSICO 'TENUTA SANT'ALFONSO' ROCCA DELLE MACIE 2020 DESCRIPTION

Rocca delle Macie's Chianti Classico "Tenuta Sant'Alfonso" is a pure Sangiovese made to enhance the aromatic richness and intensity of Tuscany's most important red grape variety. This is an important label from the winery, created to give voice to a particularly prestigious estate cru. The result is a very expressive, concentrated and intense red, with rich fruity aromas and refined evolutionary notes. Because of its decisive character and strong personality, it is particularly gastronomic and suitable for a variety of even important pairings, such as roasted red meats, sliced beef or game.

"Tenuta Sant'Alfonso" is a Chianti Classico that bears the mark of one of the appellation's most prestigious names. Rocca delle Macie is an estate created in the early 1970s with the desire to produce great wines. The property covers more than 500 hectares, of which one hundred are dedicated to viticulture. The wine is the result of careful zoning of the vineyards, which brought to light some plots characterized by soils richer in clay and with less skeleton. Some Sangiovese clones particularly suited to clay were planted in these soils in order to obtain concentrated wines rich in aromas and polyphenols. After fermentation, with classic maceration on the skins, the wine matures for at least twelve months in 35-hectoliter French oak barrels and completes its aging process with a few months in the bottle.

Chianti Classico wine "Tenuta Sant'Alfonso" by Rocca delle Macie is a bottle created to enhance the facets of the territory of the Castellina in Chianti estate. In the glass, it has a bright and intense ruby red color. The olfactory profile is elegant, with aromas of cherry, black cherry, small dark berry fruits, blackberry, black currant, hints of soft spices, licorice root, herbs, vanilla, toasted and roasted hints. The palate is full-bodied, with dense and evolved tannins, complex and dense aromas, harmonious and deep, accompanying towards a very persistent and balanced finish. A label that renews in the sign of excellence the great tradition of Chianti wines.
