Rosso Riserva 'Cuvée Flora' Girlan 2022

The Rosso Riserva “Cuvée Flora” wine is one of those products to which Girlan dedicates particular attention, ranking at the top of the quality achieved by the winery in Cornaiano. It is a blend with an international profile, where Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot come together in a sip of great pleasantness, with varied and complex aromas that evolve minute by minute. A bottle in which structure and finesse go hand in hand, as it is not always the case in a wine.

This Girlan “Cuvée Flora” is a Rosso Riserva that arises from the happy union of two international grape varieties that often complement each other well, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines of these varieties grow in hillside vineyards, located near Cornaiano, at an altitude above sea level between 450 and 500 meters. Here, the terroir is characterized by a subsoil rich in sandy composition. The grapes, expertly selected by the Girlan team, after destemming and crushing, ferment alcoholically in steel, also carrying out malolactic fermentation. The aging process then begins, first carried out for 20 months in barrique and then, after bottling, for an additional 8 months in glass.

The Rosso Riserva "Cuvée Flora" presents itself visually with a typically deep and compact ruby color. The nose is dominated by balsamic and Mediterranean notes, enriched by hints that, as the minutes pass, become spicier, also hinting at some aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is of excellent body, structured, with a full and round sip, characterized by a pleasant tannic texture, perfectly crafted. It finishes with a long-lasting persistence. A red with which the Girlan winery confirms, once again, the absolute quality of the products that are part of the "Selections" line.
