Freisa Oreste Buzio 2022

The Freisa by Oreste Buzio is a red wine produced from a historic grape variety of the Piedmontese territory, particularly from the Monferrato area. The Freisa, vinified only in steel, gives pleasantly fragrant wines, with a straightforward, immediate profile and great drinkability. Its floral and fruity aromas, the still crunchy and fresh sip, recall the classic wine of popular tradition, which was never missing at the table to accompany traditional cuisine dishes or a snack with cold cuts.

The red Freisa by Oreste Buzio comes from the vineyards of the estate: five hectares in the heart of Monferrato Casalese managed under organic farming, with only organic fertilization, mowing of weeds, and treatments against pathogens based on copper, sulfur, and microorganisms. The vineyards enjoy excellent exposure to the south and southeast and are planted with Guyot on calcareous soils, with a density of 5000 plants per hectare. After manual harvesting, the grapes are sent for fermentation in steel tanks with skin maceration. The wine matures for 8 months in steel and completes the aging with a few months in the bottle before being put on sale.

The Freisa Oreste Buzio is the classic example of a simple and immediate wine from the Piedmontese tradition. It is the classic bottle to drink in company, appreciated especially for its fruity freshness and lively fragrance. In the glass, it has a light and slightly intense ruby red color, characteristic of the type. On the nose, it expresses delicate floral aromas, raspberry notes, and small red berry fruits, accompanied by slight spicy hints. The sip is harmonious and balanced, with barely noticeable tannins and a finish of beautiful freshness.
