'JA!' TINEDO 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Ja! from the Tinedo winery is a Spanish red wine made from pure Tempranillo grapes with a modern and appealing profile. Its immediate and informal character is evident right from its name, an interjection in the Spanish language with multiple meanings and typical of everyday speech. When repeated, it signifies laughter while, when isolated in the sentence, as in this case, it indicates a reaction of surprise, wonder and disbelief. The typicality of the Tempranillo variety is here interpreted and captured in its most sympathetic, playful and youthful traits, without the use of wood and in compliance with European organic regulations.

The red wine Ja! is produced by the Tinedo winery, a family-run business that has been faithful, for more than a decade, to a working method based on organic agriculture, environmental sustainability and preservation of the ecosystem. Like other varieties, the Tempranillo vines are cultivated without using herbicides, pesticides or other synthetic products but only with copper and sulphur and natural preparations to fertilise the soil, such as compost obtained from the marc. The harvested grapes are vinified in the estate's 19th-century wine cellar: they ferment and mature for several months in steel tanks. This simple production method focuses on enhancing the primary aromas of the grapes while the long maceration allows for a rich aromatic extraction. There is, in fact, a maceration on the skins of almost a month: a 5-day cryomaceration is followed by two weeks of alcoholic fermentation, with a prolonged period on the skins for a further 7 days.

The Ja! Tinedo is appreciated for its freshness and high drinkability, but also for good concentration and rich fruit substance, which is why it has been sympathetically described as a fresh explosion of fruit. In the glass, it manifests an intense ruby red colour with clear and evident violet tones, allowing hints of small red fruits such as currants and blackberries, fresh cherries, violet petals and delicate spices to emerge on the nose. The taste is fresh, crisp, pleasant and fruity, characterised by excellent balance and light tannins on the finish. It lends itself to pairing with many home cooking dishes, from cold cuts to pizza, including first courses with mushrooms or vegetables and grilled meats. For lovers of territorial pairings, we recommend pairing it with tapas and a few slices of Jamon Serrano.

Temperature
16°-18°C
When to open
To enjoy an artisanal wine at its best, we recommend you to let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
