La Vite Lucente Magnum - Frescobaldi 2022
Il Lucente is a soft Tuscan red wine in Magnum format, rich and fragrant, aged for 15 months in barrels. It emanates hints of black fruit, berry jam, and sweet spices. The sip is round, energetic, and seductive, with body and structure, featuring an elegant and velvety tannic texture.
The “Lucente” is a red wine with a intense and soft profile, aged in barrique for a long time, born from a fortunate blend of Sangiovese, the typical grape of the Tuscan lands, and Merlot, a noble Bordeaux variety. Thanks to this Italian-French union, the wine finds its perfect expressive harmony and balance, making it enjoyable from a young age, while also having an interesting potential for evolution during aging. It is produced in the Tenuta Luce located in the splendid territory of Montalcino, one of the most vocated areas in Tuscany and home to some of the best excellences of our winemaking.
The red “Lucente” combines the structure of Sangiovese, with its strong and sometimes a bit angular character, with the fruity softness and seductive roundness of Merlot, a grape that has only recently been introduced to Montalcino, but has immediately proven to adapt well to the climate and territory of this precious hill in the province of Siena. “Lucente” is born from a selection of the grapes from the best vineyards: Merlot is usually harvested at the beginning of September, while Sangiovese at the end of the month. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28 °C, with a maceration on the skins of about twenty days. The wine matures for 12 months in barrique, partly new and partly already used, and completes the aging with a few months in the bottle.
The wine “Lucente” seduces and conquers with its harmonious character, for its expressive immediacy, for its fragrant scents and aromas, which despite the wood aging, retain the crunchiness of the ripe fruit. It has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of small dark berries, cherry, plum, spicy notes, and woody nuances. On the palate, it is round, enveloping, and soft, with juicy, ripe fruit, velvety tannic texture, and balanced freshness. Excellent paired with roasted red meats or mixed grills, in Magnum version to be enjoyed in company!
