The Riesling Mosel from the German winery Heymann-Lowenstein is a white wine with a fresh and mineral character, tense and vertical, a typical expression of this extraordinary and famous grape variety from Northern Europe. In its natural cradle, on the steep banks of the Moselle River, it manages to express all its potential, offering wines that, in youth, are pleasantly fruity and citrusy, but capable of evolving into refined tertiary aromas of great charm. They are long-lived and deep whites, dedicated to lovers of complex, intense wines rich in expressive facets.
The white Riesling Mosel from Heymann-Lowenstein is produced in one of the most beautiful and prestigious areas of the Moselle. Cornelia Heymann and Reinhard Lowenstein cultivate some of the best-exposed vineyards in the entire region. The estate is divided into small plots cultivated on steep terraces, which rise along the riverbanks. The cold climate, moderated by the Moselle and the precious stony soils rich in slate, contribute to creating the perfect conditions for the cultivation of Riesling. The harvests take place in November and the work in the cellar is inspired by tradition, with the utmost respect for the varietal characteristics of the grapes and with dry vinifications. Fermentation takes place in steel with indigenous yeasts and the wine matures for 10 months on the lees before being bottled.
The Riesling Mosel wine from the Heymann-Lowenstein winery is a white that clearly and transparently expresses the grape-terroir binomial, typical of the great labels of the Moselle. A dry, linear, and clean wine, appreciated for its extreme expressive purity. The color is bright and luminous straw yellow. The aromatic profile offers notes of citrus, white fruit, floral nuances, and hints of spices. The sip is energetic and vital, with delicate fruit and a finish of great mineral freshness.
