The Classic Method Brut Nature "Giuseppe Galliano" is a vintage sparkling wine intense, fresh, and complex produced by Borgo Maragliano based in Loazzolo, in the province of Asti, in a unique and enchanting setting, among steep hills, towers, and castles. The vineyards where this sparkling wine originates are located on steep hills at altitudes above 430 meters. The vines, which have an average age of about 25 years, are trained using the trellis method with Guyot pruning on soils characterized mainly by sandy-limestone soils. The winery is a family-run business, owner of about 39 hectares of vineyards, managed by Carlo Galliano who has managed, after years of hard work and sacrifice, to become a reference point in the Piedmont area for the production of sparkling wines.
The "Giuseppe Galliano" Classic Method Brut Nature sparkling wine from Borgo Maragliano is produced with carefully selected grapes harvested by hand at their optimal ripeness. The bunches, brought to the winery, are pressed directly to then carry out the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers for a few weeks. The base wine thus obtained is added with tirage liqueur for the sparkling process and subsequent re-fermentation in the bottle on its own lees. Then, the wine undergoes disgorgement and the addition of expedition liqueur, made solely from must, to reach the desired dosage level, as per the brut nature category.
The "Giuseppe Galliano" Classic Method Brut Nature sparkling wine presents itself with a brilliant golden yellow color and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe yellow fruit and citrus appear, including peach and orange peel, floral notes of white flowers, hints of toasted bread and brioche, followed by notes of dried fruit and candied fruit. On the palate, it is creamy, soft, and at the same time tense and vertical, characterized by a pleasant freshness with mineral hints and a persistent finish played on citrus traits. This from the Borgo Maragliano winery is a rich, articulated Classic Method with good complexity that surprises with its drinkability.
