Origini' by Elena Conti is a red wine from indigenous grapes from the winery in question, located in northern Piedmont. Lively, energetic, but with balanced tannins, it is loved for its smoothness and ease of drinking, even though it has a firm, very fruity mouthfeel with touches of minerals. Cherries, pomegranate, tobacco and cloves come to the fore on the palate, guaranteeing a match throughout the meal, best however with meats with strong flavours

With its lively and slightly rustic character, the 'Origini' Red from the Piedmontese winery Elena Conti expresses the most traditional face of its native territory. This wine originates from the recovery of an old vineyard cultivated with the "Maggiorina" system, a historical training method widely used in the Alto Piemonte region. This system involves cultivating three vine plants supported by eight chestnut poles, oriented towards the four cardinal points. The structure was further perfected by the renowned architect Alessandro Antonelli, designer of the Mole Antonelliana, a symbol of the city of Turin. In these vineyards, it was traditional to cultivate different native grape varieties together, such as Nebbiolo, Vespolina, and Uva Rara.
Elena Conti's 'Origini' Red is produced from a blend of red grapes sourced from an old vineyard, cultivated using sustainable practices on acidic volcanic soils. Due to the Maggiorina training system, all agronomic operations are carried out by hand, including grape harvesting, typically done between late September and early October. In the cellar, the grapes undergo red vinification in steel tanks through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and a 2-week maceration on the skins, with daily pump-overs.
'Origini' Red by Elena Conti has a lively ruby red color. On the nose, pleasant fruity aromas of cherry and pomegranate mingle with notes of herbs, leather, graphite, tobacco, and cloves. On the palate, it impresses with its lively freshness, accompanied by balanced tannins that lead to a fruity and slightly rustic finish, marked by a decisive sapid-mineral trace.
