The Camporomano La Stoppa is a pure Barbera produced by one of the most interesting realities in the Colli Piacentini area. The Piedmontese grape variety is widespread throughout the pre-Apennine hilly area, which stretches from Monferrato to Piacenza, and it has adapted well thanks to the beautiful sunny exposures and the suitable soils. This label is made only in the best vintages, which favor an excellent ripening of the grapes with particularly rich and intense aromatic profiles. The wine perfectly expresses the exuberant character of Barbera, its typical fruity fragrance, and its clear and lively freshness.
The red Camporomano from the Piacenza winery La Stoppa is the result of careful and respectful work in the countryside towards the natural ecosystem. The estate is managed according to the principles of organic farming with treatments carried out using only copper and sulfur, grassed rows, and no use of chemical substances. The Barbera vines are aged between 20 and 45 years and are cultivated on soils composed of silt and clay, particularly suitable for red berry varieties. At the end of the manual harvest, the grapes are subjected to spontaneous fermentation using only indigenous yeasts in stainless steel or cement tanks, with a skin maceration of 40 days. The wine matures in used French oak barriques, in large wooden barrels of 40 hectoliters, and is bottled without filtration and without adding sulfur dioxide, in order to preserve the natural integrity of the wine.
The Camporomano wine from the La Stoppa winery is a red with a character that is typically territorial, a transparent expression of the terroir of the Colli Piacentini and one of the symbolic grape varieties of the area. In the glass, it presents a lively ruby red color with slight violet reflections. Intense and rich, it releases aromas of ripe cherry, strawberry, wild blackberry, red-fleshed plum, floral nuances of violet and peony, hints of underbrush, and delicate spicy sensations.
