The Grignolino d'Asti "Lanfora" is born from aging in terracotta amphorae to preserve all the spontaneity of the precious Piedmontese grape. It pervades the nose with intense aromas of red berries, underbrush, geranium, dark and Asian spices. It flows pleasantly in the mouth, showing a fine tannic structure and a vigorous freshness that marks the sip

The Grignolino d’Asti “Lanfora” from the Montalbera winery is a delicate and characteristic red wine from the Monferrato area of Piemonte, made from pure Grignolino grapes grown using the traditional low guyot method between the municipalities of Castagnole Monferrato and Montemagno. The vines, aged between 7 and 30 years, are planted with a southeast exposure on clay-limestone soils. The winery, now managed by Enrico Riccardo Morando, has been promoting the enhancement of the territory for six generations and owns 175 hectares that extend between the Monferrato and Langhe areas.

The “Lanfora” Grignolino d’Asti from Montalbera is part of one of the winery's selections. The grapes, after being hand-picked, are fermented on their skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers for several weeks. The wine is then separated and aged for 8-10 months in terracotta amphorae from Impruneta of various sizes. This allows for natural transpiration and maturation of the wine without letting the tertiary aromatic characteristics from aging in wood impact it.The aromatic tertiary characteristics from aging in wood do not impact it. After aging in amphora, the Grignolino is bottled and remains to mature for a few months in the bottle before being marketed.

The Grignolino “Lanfora” from the Montalbera winery presents itself with a bright ruby red color with typical orange reflections of the grape variety. On the nose, there are hints of red fruits, including wild strawberries and raspberries, floral aromas of geranium, underbrush, and spices, including curry. On the palate, it is vibrant, pleasantly smooth and fresh and characterized by a good tannic structure. This label from Montalbera is an indigenous red with a light character suitable for any occasion.
