The Turlò” by Tenuta di Salviano is a highly versatile red from Umbria, produced with grapes harvested on the shores of Lake Corbara. It is born from the meeting of international grapes and Sangiovese, a blend designed to be easy-drinking but with good structure. On the nose, there are hints of red flowers and dark fruits, the finish presents peculiar herbaceous notes reminiscent of Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it reveals great savoriness and freshness, factors enhanced by maturation in cement, it also has good structure and excellent balance. It pairs well with meat dishes, also to be tried in combination with pizza

The “Tuorlò” is a liquid portrait of Lake Corbara, an artificial basin of the Tiber River that has given rise to a very picturesque river park. We are in Umbria, in the province of Terni, where Tenuta Salviano has its roots since 1830 when the Corsini family transformed the company into a productive winery. It was then in the second half of the ‘900 that the winery began a process of modernization, thanks to the marriage of Nerina Corsini with Marquis Enrico Incisa della Rocchetta, producer of the famous Sassicaia. Today the winery continues its quality production and offers each year wines with a strong sense of place capable of expressing all the charm of this splendid terroir.

The red “Tuorlò” comes from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese that grow on volcanic soils, rich in skeleton and tuff, climbing between 300 and 450 meters with a southeast exposure. The vines of medium age - about 20-25 years - are cultivated using the counter-espalier method with cordon pruning.harvested. During the month of September, the grapes are manually picked in boxes based on their degree of ripeness. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperature with skin maceration for about 12 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for a few months in cement tanks.

The “Tuorlò” from Tenuta Salviano is dressed in a bright ruby red color. It tells the nose of floral fragrances of violet and rose, accompanied by herbal sensations, such as pepper, and small red fruits, such as cherry, sour cherry, currant, and raspberry. A red of fresh youth, juicy, clean, and pleasantly tannic, with a balanced structure and good alcoholic warmth. A wine for all meals, from appetizers to game dishes, but it gives its best with meat preparations or land-based menus!
