The Bordeaux Rouge from Chateau Moulin du Rey is a very pleasant red with a velvety tannic structure. An excellent value for money wine that is very fragrant and easy to drink. Dark chocolate, black fruits and sweet spices blend together to create a truly balanced combination, to be drunk with veal or beef.

Chateau Moulin du Rey's Bordeaux Rouge is an intensely fruity Bordeaux blend, a quality that is enhanced by the fact that it is made entirely in steel. This Chateau, with its 20 hectares of vineyards, is located in the Entre-deux-Mers area, precisely in the small commune of Targon. It is a family-run business now in its fourth generation, today led by Julien Luro, who took over the reins of the estate in 2006 on the strength of his family's consolidated savoire-faire. The symbol of the Chateau is, needless to say, the mill, 'moulin' in French, a structure that also appears on the label.
Chateau Moulin du Rey Bordeaux Rouge consists of a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes, traditional Bordeaux varieties that the estate grows on predominantly clay and limestone soils in the typical oceanic climate that characterises the area. After harvesting, the grapes are transferred to the cellar, where alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with maceration on the skins and without any temperature control. Again in steel containers, the wine matures for several months until final bottling and further resting in glass prior to release.
On visual inspection, the Bordeaux Rouge from the family-run Chateau Moulin du Rey shows a bright ruby red colour with purple hues. The olfactory context is described by vivid fruity scents reminiscent of small black and red-fleshed fruits, notes that are accompanied by a pleasant balsamic and spicy undertone. Progression on the palate reveals excellent intensity, velvety body and medium structure, with brilliant freshness and sweet, delicate tannins defining a finish of good balance and elegance.
