The Salice Salentino "Talò" from the ancient Apulian winery San Marzano is a red wine rich in flavor and with a pronounced aromaticity. The blend is mainly obtained from Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes from Brindisi aged in French oak barrels for 6 months before being bottled. The glass is filled with a brilliant ruby red cloak with garnet reflections and the nose is delighted by aromas of red-fleshed fruit, sweet spices, and pure memories of Mediterranean scrub. The sip is vigorous and direct, finishing with great freshness.

The Salice Salentino “Talò” from the Apulian winery San Marzano is a label of great territorial typicity, born in the heart of Salento from a blend based on Negroamaro, to which a small percentage of Malvasia Nera from Brindisi is added. It is the red of tradition, capable of expressing the ancient face of a viticulture that has its roots in Magna Grecia and has managed to maintain a deep connection with the land and culture of the place. A perfect synthesis of native grape varieties and terroir, it is a sunny and Mediterranean wine, which brings into the glass the best traditions of Salento.

The “Talò” Salice Salentino is produced by San Marzano, one of the most important and famous wineries in Puglia. Its wines are a reflection of a splendid territory and the desire to enhance its excellences through local native grape varieties. The vineyards of Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera from Brindisi are located in the San Marzano area, at an altitude of about 100 meters above sea level, on stony soils, composed of clays and sands, which rest on deep substrates of limestone rocks. At the end of the harvest, which usually takes place in the second half of September, fermentation is carried out at controlled temperature with selected yeasts and a maceration on the skins lasting about ten days. Before proceeding to bottling, the wine matures for 6 months in French oak barriques.

The red Salice Salentino “Talò” from San Marzano has always been the protagonist of the tables of the wonderful lands of Salento. Appreciated for its balance and fruity pleasantness, it pairs very well with rich first courses with meat ragù, baked pasta, grilled meat, or mixed grills. To the eye, it presents a beautiful bright ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is intense, with aromas of cherry, blackberry, currant, red-fleshed plum, hints of Mediterranean scrub herbs, soft spicy nuances, iodine and briny memories. On the palate, it is of medium structure, with elegant tannins well integrated with fruity, soft and enveloping, leading to a fresh, harmonious and persistent finish.
