'ARTIGLI' BULLI DESCRIPTION

"Artigli' from the Piacenza-based Bulli winery is a sparkling orange wine with a fresh, fragrant and thirst-quenching sip. Citrusy and fruity, with a sip of remarkable expressive energy, it is a wine with a typically convivial, smooth and satisfying character. It stems from the great Emilian tradition of producing sparkling wines and the ancient practice of vinifying white grapes with maceration on the skins. A procedure that produces whites with greater structure and aromatic complexity. It is a perfect bottle to enjoy as an aperitif or to accompany an appetiser with local cured meats.

The 'Artigli' sparkling wine is made by a winery specialising in producing wines characterised by great territorial distinctiveness. The Bulli estate is located in the Castell'Arquato area and produces mainly semi-sparkling wines with native varieties from the Piacenza area. The wine comes from a blend of white grapes historically present in the Emilia region. Once the harvesting operations have been completed, vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, with spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maceration on the skins in order to extract the maximum aromatic components. The base wines are blended to carry out the second fermentation in the bottle according to the Ancestral Method, i.e. without disgorging, keeping the spent yeasts at the bottom of the bottle.

Orange 'Artigli' from the Bulli winery is an interesting version of macerated wine, declined according to the classic traditions of the Colli Piacentini, which has always been a land of great sparkling wines. In the glass, it has an intense yellow colour with slight orange hues, a slightly veiled appearance due to the presence of yeasts and a lively effervescence. The nose is intense and rich, with fragrances of citrus fruit, orange peel, grapefruit, aromas of ripe yellow-fleshed fruit, peach, medlar, nuances of aromatic herbs and slight hints of candied ginger. The sip is exuberant, juicy and pleasantly fruity. The finish is dry, savoury and very fresh. Depending on personal taste, it can be tasted by leaving the yeasts at the bottom of the bottle or by turning the bottle upside down before opening it to bring them into suspension.
