CHAMPAGNE BRUT 'GRANDE ANNÉE' BOLLINGER 2014 (CONFEZIONE) DESCRIPTION

Maison Bollinger's Champagne Brut "Grande Année" is an emblem of elegance. It is already clear from its name: this Champagne is only produced in great vintages, when the final result can become something exceptional. More than a selection, what lies behind the decision to produce a 'Grande Année' is the ability to recognise the extraordinariness of vintage and grapes, as well as soil and blend, in the wine. There is so much foresight and so much, so much passion in the Maison Bollinger which, not surprisingly, is known in every corner of the world. This Brut is a sort of precious and beautiful painting, realistically portraying the peculiarities of a vintage, the identity of a terroir, the character of the vines and the personality of the trait that brought it all together.

Bollinger's Brut Champagne "Grande Année" is composed of a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. The first grapes come from Ay and Verzenay, while the Chardonnay comes from vineyards located in Cramant and Oger, for a total of 14 Cru (91% Grand Cru and 9% Premier Cru). The fermentation of the base wines takes place entirely in barrels; the re-fermentation phase in the bottle with ageing lasts far longer than the minimum period imposed by the specifications and reaches 60 months on the lees in the bottle.

Bollinger's "Grande Année" Champagne Brut presents a golden yellow colour, intense and luminous. The perlage not only brightens its appearance, but also sharpens the aromas that emerge tirelessly from the glass. An initial fruity impact of peach and mango paves the way for a reminder of almond, bread, toasted notes and spice. The sip is very balanced, combining the persuasive creaminess with freshness and minerality, as is the case with the flavour, perfectly balanced between citrus aromas and sweeter ones reminiscent of honey. James Bond drank it in 'Casino Royale': confirmation that 007 also understood wine and drank only the best.
