Pievasciata' is the rosé version of Vallepicciola's Pinot Noir. A fresh and simple expression of Tuscany that, after a brief refinement in steel, smells of floral fragrances and wild strawberries, displaying a delicate, fine and subtle sip of the gourmand and carefree drink
The Rosé 'Pievasciata' Vallepicciola is a rosé made in the Chianti area from a pure Pinot Noir. The noble Burgundy grape is vinified in rosé with only brief contact with the skins, so as to leave some colour and the characteristic, refined fruity notes typical of the variety. It is a rosé that is especially appreciated for its delicate and fragrant face, which offers subtle floral notes and aromas of small berries. The sip, fresh and harmonious, stands out for its expressive finesse and immediate drinkability.
The 'Pievasciata' rosé wine comes from the Pinot Nero vines cultivated near Castelnuovo Berardenga, within the Vallepicciola estate. There are a total of 265 hectares on the estate, about one third of which are given over to vineyards, in a natural setting that is still unspoilt and rich in great biodiversity. The vineyards are cultivated mainly with Sangiovese, but there are also the international Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The winery's philosophy is geared towards the production of high quality wines, with the aim of exploiting the potential of an extraordinary terroir. The cool climate, characterised by considerable temperature fluctuations, and the highly suitable soils provide the ideal conditions for producing excellent grapes. The modern winery is technologically advanced and every process is designed to enhance the fragrance and varietal typicality.
Pievasciata' Rosato Vallepicciola is the fruit of the winning gamble of cultivating Pinot Noir in Chianti Classico, a land that has always had a vocation for Sangiovese. The vineyards are located at an altitude of over 400 metres on limestone-clay soils, which are particularly suited to red Burgundy. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine rests for three months in steel tanks and finishes its ageing with three months in the bottle. In the glass it has a luminous, fairly intense pink colour. The bouquet offers aromas of small red berries, currants, wild strawberries and floral nuances. The palate is harmonious and delicate, with crisp aromas and a fresh finish, closing on savoury notes.
