Angostura 7 Year Rum is a Caribbean distillate characterised by its expressiveness of aroma and taste. It is a product of incredible versatility: it can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or used to make iconic cocktails such as the Old Fashioned
The 7 Year Old Rum from the Venezuelan brand Angostura is a Premium Rum with the typical Caribbean style, aged for 7 long years in ex-Bourbon oak barrels. The definitive modern success of rum occurred in the 1940s, following the end of Prohibition in the United States, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt opened up trade with Latin America and the Caribbean, ushering in a new era for this prized sugar cane distillate.
Angostura 7 Year Old Rum is produced through a blend of light, medium, and heavy rums distilled by Angostura. These are crafted from molasses, a sugary solution that undergoes alcoholic fermentation followed by continuous column distillation. After distillation, each rum is aged in various hand-selected oak barrels previously used for Bourbon maturation. These spirits rest for a minimum of 7 years in these barrels, after which they are blended and further aged until final bottling.
Angostura 7 Year Old Rum displays an intense amber-yellow hue with reddish reflections. Its generous aroma is intoxicated with sweet and exotic hints of passion fruit, almond, banana, acacia honey, coconut, coffee, maple syrup, soft caramel, and chocolate. The palate is full, warm, and structured, with a round enveloping texture that leads to a harmonious and persistent finish, characterized by toasted dried fruit notes. A Venezuelan rum ideal for savoring neat or on the rocks, as well as for crafting delicious cocktails such as the Manhattan and Old Fashioned.
