Within the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella, in the heart of the classic zone of Valpolicella, stands the family-run Ca' La Bionda winery, a winery that bases its production vision on values such as territoriality and sustainability. The estate was born in 1902 from an intuition of Pietro Castellani and is now led by the fourth generation of the Castellani family, represented by brothers Alessandro and Nicola, the former responsible for the oenological aspect while the latter for the agronomic one. Then, in 2008, the winery was among the founding members of FIVI, the Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (Italian Federation of Independent Winemakers), an association that groups those small producers who directly control the entire process, from growing their own grapes to selling the bottles.

The Ca' La Bionda estate comprises 29 hectares of total land, mainly dedicated to vines, particularly the traditional varieties Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara. The agronomic management follows the principles of organic farming, certified as of 2016, and the vines are planted on hillside terraces characterized by an abundance of limestone, clay, rocks and stones. The altitude varies from 150 to 300 meters above sea level while the exposure is east and southeast. In the winery, fermentations take place spontaneously in temperature-controlled steel containers, with subsequent aging always taking place in steel for the fresher, more youthful wines or in large oak barrels for those with greater structure and prestige. For Amarone della Valpolicella, the drying process takes place in wooden crates for several months in controlled environments.

The Ca' La Bionda winery has a purely Rossista orientation that embraces all the major appellations of the Valpolicella territory, from Valpolicella Classico to Amarone, via Ripasso and Recioto. These are interpretations with a typical and traditional dimension, an authentic expression of the enoic character of the valley of Marano.
