The apulian expression of one of Italy's best winemakers
Region Puglia (Italia)
Address Cantina Luccarelli, Via G. L. Marugj, 66 - 74024 Manduria (TA)

The Luccarelli winery belongs to the Farnese Vini Group, one of the most important and extensive wine producers in the Peninsula, which is strongly linked to the Apulian wine industry. The Group owns important estates scattered throughout central and southern Italy, such as Tuscany, Campania, Basilicata and Sicily, as well as Apulia and Abruzzo, the main and original headquarters of Farnese Vini, from which it derives a wide and heterogeneous production, configuring itself as "the largest boutique winery in Italy". In particular, the headquarters of the Luccarelli - Farnese estate is located in Manduria, in the province of Taranto, an area that has Primitivo as its grape of choice. The most representative types of wine of the Apulian territory are undoubtedly the reds and the rosés, and especially for the latter the region is considered one of the largest producers in Italy.

The vineyards managed by the Luccarelli - Farnese winery benefit from Apulia's typical Mediterranean climate: warm, dry and sunny, mitigated by breezes from both the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. The vines are mostly bush-trained, a system that allows the vines to make the most of the soil resources, improving the quality of the grapes and thus of the wine. On this basis, the estate cultivates, in addition to Primitivo, the indigenous varieties Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Verdeca and Malvasia Bianca, as well as the popular international varieties Chardonnay and Merlot and red grapes traditionally grown in Apulia such as Sangiovese and Aglianico. Harvesting is done by hand in the early hours of the morning in order to preserve the aromatic heritage of the grapes. In the cellar, the grapes are processed with scrupulous care, devoting the utmost attention to each stage of the vinification and ageing process. Generally, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, so as to enhance the freshness and aromas of the finished wine, while maturation processes take place mostly in oak barrels.

The wines of the Luccarelli - Farnese estate express the link with the Apulian territory, while being characterised by an international style, in a fine combination of tradition and innovation.
