BROUILLY '3 LOUPS' DOMAINE LES ROCHES BLEUES 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Brouilly, "3 Loups" from Domaine Les Roches Bleues, is a pure Gamay that brings to the glass the best tradition of reds from the Beaujolais region and the particularities of one of its most vocated terroirs, located near Mont Broully. It is a label that offers great drinking pleasure. The ripe and rich grapes give a juicy and fragrant fruit, enhanced by a semi-carbonic vinification, which preserves the expressive crispness and lightness of the tannins. An immediate and simple wine, reminiscent of its style of the good old-fashioned everyday wine, straightforward and genuine.

The '3 Loups' Brouilly from Domaine Les Roches Bleues is made by a small family-run winery, which manages a 9-hectare estate divided into several parcels located within the territory of the Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly Appellations in the heart of the Beaujolais region. The vineyards are conducted according to organic farming principles and are located at the foot of the Mont Broully massif. The stony soils and the mild, sunny climate are ideal for ripening Gamay, the area's iconic grape variety. The cuvée is the fruit of grapes from a single parcel located in the eponymous lieu dit Les Trois Loups. The Gamay vines are about 10 years old and are cultivated on fairly deep soils derived from the metaphorical Pierres Bleues, with ancient sediments of alluvial origin. Harvesting is carried out manually, and the grapes are vinified whole with a semi-carbonic maceration process lasting a dozen days. Fermentation takes place spontaneously, using only indigenous yeasts. The wine matures for 8-10 months in oak barrels and is bottled with light filtration and minimal addition of sulphites.

The Brouilly, '3 Loups' wine, made by Domaine Les Roches Bleues, is a young, fragrant red that wins you over with its expressive transparency and limpid drinking pleasure. A perfect bottle to enjoy with friends in informal moments. In the glass, it has a lively ruby colour with luminous reflections. On the nose, it expresses all the exuberance of rich, ripe fruit with aromas of cherry, small berries, currant, raspberry, strawberry, red-fleshed plum, delicate hints of spice and aromatic herbs. Harmonious and soft, it presents itself on the palate with subtle, velvety tannins and a flowing mouthfeel, characterised by rich, satisfying fruit, which accompanies a fresh, well-persistent finish.
