BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 'VIGNETO MANACHIARA' TENUTE SILVIO NARDI 2015 DESCRIPTION

Tenute Silvio Nardi presents Brunello di Montalcino 'Vigneto Manachiara,' the winery's flagship wine, a expression of merit and elegance. 'Vigneto Manachiara' is the "Brunello dell'alba," made from grapes harvested at the Manachiara estate in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, located to the east and purchased in 1962 by founder Silvio Nardi. In particular, the Manachiara estate, an appellation meaning "clear morning," is divided into the parcels of Colombaiolo, Pinzale and precisely Manachiara, the vineyard of origin of the cru of the same name. The wines produced here are generally very complex and structured, with an exceptional aptitude for aging.

Tenute Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino 'Vigneto Manachiara' comes from only Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown in the Manachiara cru, characterized by the presence in the soils of quartz-rich sands and Pliocene clays. The exposure of the vineyard is southeast while the altitude is about 300 meters above sea level. Harvesting is done by hand in boxes and the bunches are then carefully selected before red vinification by alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with at least 22 days of contact between the must and skins. Aging takes place between French Allier oak barrels and large Slavonian oak casks for a total period of about 30 months, followed by 2 additional years of bottle aging before final release.

The color of Brunello di Montalcino 'Vigneto Manachiara' Tenute Silvio Nardi is deep ruby red with garnet rim. The articulate and intense bouquet is described by aromas of ripe fruit, flowers and various spices, enriched by hints of tobacco and balsamic scents. Full, rich and soft on the palate, from the pleasant freshness and enveloping tannic texture that drive the elegant and very persistent finish.
