Louis Roederer's Champagne Brut "Collection 244" is a label created to highlight the history and tradition of a great Maison. It is part of the famous brand's new Champagne collections, marked by a more pronounced appreciation of the characteristics of terroir. The number 242 indicates the vintages that have followed each other since the date of its foundation between the rows of the domaine. The name Collection is intended to emphasise its exclusive nature, a true synthesis of the vines cultivated in the best locations and the precious heritage of reserve wines. It is a rich and ample Champagne with a gourmand face, suitable for those who prefer a soft and seductive sip, with ripe and satisfying fruit.
"Collection 244" is a Brut Champagne from the famous Maison Louis Roederer that comes from a classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, from various vineyards located in different parts of the estate. The three grape varieties are vinified in white separately and in a parceled manner. The grapes are gently pressed and the flower must ferments in temperature-controlled steel tanks. After several months of ageing, the vins clairs of the vintage are blended by adding about 45% reserve wines, which give the cuvée complexity and maturity. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method, with a minimum of 48 months' maceration sur lattes before dégorgement.
Louis Roederer's Brut "Collection 244" is a non-vintage Champagne of great elegance, well representing the classic and refined style of the Maison, which has always been committed to the creation of cuvées that best express the characteristics of a terroir of the highest quality. In the glass it is a luminous pale yellow colour with brilliant golden reflections. The perlage is fine, delicate and continuous. The bouquet is rich and intense, with notes of ripe yellow fruit, peach, pineapple, nuances of tropical fruit, lemon peel, candied citrus, pastry softness and acacia honey, hints of toasted hazelnut and almond. The sip is ample, clear and deep, with remarkable complexity and aromatic persistence, accompanied by a pleasant mineral freshness. A Magnum version perfect for celebrating.
