CHARDONNAY 'MAINQUE' BODEGA CHACRA 2022 DESCRIPTION

Bodega Chacra's 'Mainque' Chardonnay is an elegant and rich white wine that offers an intense and satisfying taste experience. It originates in the distant lands of Patagonia and in particular in the area crossed by the Rio Negro river, formed by the waters flowing down from the Andean glaciers. Thanks to canals built during the 19th century by English settlers, the valley is cultivated and the sunny exposures have proved perfect for Chardonnay. The wine is inspired, also from a vinification point of view, by the Burgundian tradition and offers mature, complex, pleasantly harmonious and deep aromas, always supported by a clear vein of mineral freshness, typical of the terroir.

"Bodega Chacra's 'Mainque' Chardonnay originates in the Río Negro region, which is particularly suited to the cultivation of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, thanks to the considerable temperature variations between sunny days and nights cooled by the winds that descend from the high peaks of the Andes. The dry climate prevents the presence of mould and the grapes ripen healthy and with very intense aromas, thanks to the careful management of the vineyards inspired by the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The Chardonnay grapes come from parcels on the estate that are around 30 years old and are cultivated on medium-textured, calcareous, clayey and sandy soils. The best grapes are softly pressed and the must ferments spontaneously thanks to indigenous yeasts, in French oak barriques, cement and steel tanks. Maturation takes place for about a year in the same containers, without malolactic fermentation, to preserve expressive tension and freshness.

Bodega Chacra's 'Mainque' Chardonnay wine perfectly blends the characteristics of Patagonia's magnificent terroir with the classic French tradition. It is a wine with an international profile, which tells the story of Argentina through a grape variety known and appreciated throughout the world for its elegance and aromatic intensity. To the eye it conquers with a beautiful light yellow colour with luminous reflections. The bouquet expresses all the refined finesse of the great Chardonnays, with scents of white flowers, aromas of ripe citrus fruits, lime zest, white-fleshed fruit, soft hints of pastries, toasted nuances, dried fruit and delicate spices. The rich, seductive fruit envelops the palate with generous, ample aromas that extend harmoniously towards a long, fresh and savoury finish.
