'DINAVOLO' WHITE WINE DENAVOLO DESCRIPTION

The Bianco 'Dinavolo' from the Emilian winery Denavolo is an orange wine with a frank and genuine personality, full of charm. This small family-run estate was founded in 2005 in Travo, in the province of Piacenza, in the hills that divide the Trebbia and Nure valleys. Here, owner Giulio Armani grows, among others, the white grape varieties Ortrugo, Malvasia di Candia Aromatica and Marsanne, together with another unknown variety, probably a local secondary grape. Dinavolo' is probably the most important label for the winery, made from grapes grown in the oldest vineyard named Debé, planted in 1975. In particular, the grapes from the upper part of the vineyard, the highest quality ones, are used for this label.
Denavolo 'Dinavolo' Bianco comes from a blend of white grapes grown according to sustainable agronomic practices on poor, stony limestone-clay soils up to 700 metres above sea level, excluding the use of synthetic chemicals. After harvesting, the grapes are mellowed in stainless steel tanks for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation accompanied by prolonged pellicular maceration, without temperature control. No enzymes, additives or oenological aids are added throughout the process and the mass undergoes no sulphiting, clarification or filtration.
The 'Dinavolo' Bianco di Denavolo possesses a characteristic amber hue tending towards orange. Intense, rich, and pleasantly rustic is the aromatic dowry, defined by hints of bergamot, ripe apricot, wild flowers, balsamic herbs and dried fruit, supported by a mineral undertone. In the mouth, it is complex and structured, with an appetising fresh-tasting verve that combines with the delicate tannic texture.
